MINIATURE OF DIPLOMATIC RUM

Diplomático Reserva Exclusiva is above all a complex and elegant rum that has been carefully elaborated from sugar cane honeys and distilled in old copper stills. It ages from oak barrels up to 12 years and thanks to its body and excellent balance has become a reference for rum connoisseurs around the world.

You can taste it pure, on the rocks or in cocktails such as the Old Fashioned (with sugar syrup and bitter Angostura) and the Sazerac.

HISTORY

The Diplomático distillery is located at the foot of the Andes Mountains in Venezuela, where the purest waters that allow the production of some of the best rums in the world run.

Its location was also carefully selected for its proximity to the main sugarcane processing plants in the area.

Founded in 1959, Licorerías Unidas S.A (LUSA) owned the distillery through its main shareholder, Seagram's International, one of the world's largest wine and spirits companies.

In 2002, LUSA was acquired by a group of Venezuelan businessmen and became a 100% private Venezuelan company, renamed Destilerías Unidas S. A. (DUSA). The company prides itself on being an independent family operator.

The distillery is unique in that it houses three different distillation processes that, when combined, result in unique rums such as Diplomático Reserva Exclusiva, a rum acclaimed around the world.
