How is Tomintoul 10 whiskey?

Tomintoul malt whisky has been aged in ex-Bourbon barrels over a period of 10 years. Created by master distiller Robert Fleming, with one of the purest waters in Scotland, coming from the Ballantruan spring, to get a tantalizingly soft and mature malt whisky.

What is the history of Tomintoul whisky?

The Tomintoul distillery was founded in 1964 and is located in the famous Livet Valley, near the town of Ballindalloch, at the southern tip of the Speyside region of Scotland. It is a large distillery and produces around 3.3 million litres per year, with a warehouse capacity of 116,000 barrels, up to 40 years, of ten different types of whisky.

Tomintoul is the third tallest distillery in Scotland, at 286 metres above sea level and regularly suffers from bad weather and extremely cold temperatures, as a result. The current owners are Angus Dundee Distillers, and most of the whisky produced goes to the production of "blended" whisky.

Tasting notes of Tomintoul whisky

Color: Gold.

Nose: Light floral and malted barley, with notes of citrus, raisins and caramel.

Palate: Delicate and creamy flavor, fresh notes of apple and citrus with a sweet vanilla accent. In the aftertaste some soft tones of spicy wood and honey. Easy to drink.
