Penderyn is a Welsh whisky brand, it is the first commercial whisky made in Wales since the nineteenth century. The company produces unreduced malt whiskies (46% APV) of premium category and in various varieties. Penderyn is in turn the name of the distillery that manufactures it and the village in which it is located: Penderyn, Rhondda Cynon TAF.

The company was created in 2000 as the Welsh Whisky Company. Whisky had been distilled in Wales for hundreds of years, but the industry disappeared in 1894. Penderyn became, therefore, the first whisky to be manufactured in Wales from more than a hundred years ago, until 2004, when it began production.

The Penderyn Distillery is located in BRECON Beacons National Park and is considered the smallest distillery in the world. The company obtains the wash from the Brains brewery and distills it only once in a still with a very high grinding column and with a kind of pot at the base. The whisky obtained directly from the only still available to the distillery has 91% alcohol by volume.

Penderyn produces some 85,000 bottles that are marketed in 15 countries and through its website. Recently its production will be increased.
