Willett Pot Still Reserve whiskey is a bourbon specially distilled in a 'Pot Still' copper still, hence the precious shape of the bottle and bottled in small batches. He won the Double Gold Medal in the product design category by San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2009 and Gold Medal in the cat. of Bourbon by San Francisco World Spirits Competition that same year.

HISTORY

Thompson Willett was the founder and president of the Willett Distilling Company (also called Kentucky Bourbon Distillers –KBD, Ltd.). Located on the outskirts of Bardstown in 1935, it went from being a family-owned farm to becoming a distillery. During the first years it operated as an independent bottler. KBD was known as "the great father of bourbon and bottled rye."

Business that has passed from generation to generation to this day. In 1960 the distillery celebrated the filling of the 100,000th barrel. After major renovation works in 2011, a year later they began to distill again.

Since 2012 they produce various types of bourbon and also rye whiskey under the name of Willett, most of these expressions produced by the distillery are in the premium category and the maturation range goes from 6 to 17 years, with some of their vintage bottles up to 25 years.

Most of the brands that are owned by KBD, but that don't really identify with the company because it doesn't appear on their labels, are the bottled ones we have in the store as well: Old Bardstown, Rowan's Creek and Noah's Mill Bourbon.
