Mini bottle Gin Monkey 47

The story of Monkey 47 is linked to that of Montgomery Collins, lieutenant colonel of the English air force stationed in Berlin during World War II. At the end of the war he settled in Berlin to collaborate in the reconstruction of Germany. In 1951 he created a pension, "The Wild mono ", in honor of Max, a mono he had sponsored during the reconstruction of the Berlin Zoo.

M. Collins, a gin lover, quickly discovered that the "Black Forest" could provide him with quality raw material to make his own distillate: juniper, herbs, plants and of course pure spring water.

A little more than a decade ago, during the renovation of the pension, there is a bottle of gin with an artisanal label with the inscription 'Max the Monkey-Schwarzwald Dry Gin', as well as several handwritten notes in which Montgomery detailed the recipe with the ingredients used for its elaboration. In 2008 Alexander Stein and Christoph Keller brought the original formula to life and created Monkey 47.
